In The Garden

I am joining Fishtail Cottage for Cottage Flora Thursday.

I remember when we would go to my grandmother's house, she always had a garden full of vegetables and fruit. It was always fun to go out and pick the peaches and eat them right off the tree. Now that we have a grandson and one on the way I hope they can have fun memories of coming to the country.

Baby tomatoes

Blackberries planted in our garden. I can't wait for a blackberry cobbler.

A baby peach on our new peach tree.

Baby figs on our new little fig tree.

On any day you can find me out in our garden. I love just watching the vegetables grow. That is a sign I am getting older, just being happy with simple things.

I am so jealous of your baby figs. We planted two trees last year and the cold killed them this winter. We have grandchildren and we want them to enjoy coming to the country, too! Today I was picking peas and really enjoying it. Must be a sure sign of growing older as you say!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am so jealous of your new fig tree! I have been wanting one for a while, but need to find a place for it first. Loved the music on your blog! haha - I just read what Jane said and she's jealous too!!! Glad to meet another East Texan.

Looks like your garden is going to be full of goodies to enjoy at the table. My mom always had a vegetable garden and also a huge fig tree. Just flowers and shrubs in our garden though. ~ sarah

This reminds me so much of the times I went to my grandmother's house and helped her pick the fruit from her peach and other fruit trees. I enjoyed reading about your gardening and have become your new follower.
