White Wednesday

I am joining Faded Charm's White Wednesday.

I am sharing something so special to me, is the only thing I have ever asked my mom for. This was my grandmother's bench. It sat just inside her back door and a butter churn sat beside it. I remember her sitting there churning butter.

When she passed away, my mom got this bench. I told her how much I love the bench and if she ever wanted to part with it I would love it. Several years later she just up and said "I want you to take the bench home with you". I was thrilled.

I am so happy to have this sitting in my kitchen. It is probably one of the things I am most proud of. Maybe it is because of the memories I have associated with it.

I love the details on it and am so thankful my mom passed it onto me.

That is a sweet story, there is nothing more cherished than the things that belonged to our ancestors. I'm glad you got that bench, may be you can pass it on to your kids later. For some reason it makes me sad to look at my grandmother's furniture. I didn't want any of her stuff when she passed away, I love everything, just think that it should stay in her house, don't know why.
Have a fantastic day!
